Melissa has been photographing people most of her life. After working for a portrait studio in high school, she went on to earn her Photographic Communications degree at Northwest College. From there, she went to work for the premier studio in Rapid City and then opened Pistachio Alley Photography. In 2015, Melissa earned her Masters Degree in Photography, winning several awards in the process. Melissa is also one of only 9 Certified Professional Photographers in Wyoming, volunteers her time as the President of Wyoming Professional Photographers, is a member of Professional Photographers of America, Montana Professional Photographers and Wyoming Professional Photographers. She is Internationally awarded and has been published in several books and magazines. She believes beautiful portraiture is art and should be displayed as such.
When not working, you will find Melissa enjoying time with her family, volunteering at her children's schools or paddle boarding on the local lakes. She has taken up down hill skiing in the last few years and is quite tragic at best. But, believing perseverance is key, she keeps trying and will one day ski an entire run in less than 45 minutes.
